Ok. I've read some reviews about the oak drums and the only misses I've heard of are the snare drum capabilities. Are these drums "loud", because the work I'm doing needs to be more musical than anything else.

Did you check out the TAYE Studio Maple drums ? You will be surprised to see that these "Ray Ayotte" designed drums are VERY MUSICAL. Made for the jazz oriented drummer !

Best sounding drums ? GMS would be my opinion. The shells are top notch ,tones beautiful ,complements from soundmen plentiful. Only problem ive had has been some of the brass hardware threading has been stripped.its been a big pain in the ass and i cant be the only one w/ the problem so GMS may have fixed the problem
